Just rode from Pembroke,ON (first 20 km by truck to Waltham, QC) to Mont Laurier, Grand Mere, Quebec, La Malbaie, Tadoussac, back to Quebec, La Tuque, Relais 22, Clova, Val D'or, Temiscaming, Mattawa, and back to Pembroke. 3350 km 12 days away, 11 riding. Never rode on crap once, a little skinny in Quebec from Lac St. Charles to Beauport (East part of Quebec City) , but everywhere else amazing. Some a$$hoe ran into the back of my sled, while I was fueling in Clova but didn't damage mine. My buddy on HMCS Vector went off trail twice at low speed and what a heavy SOB. I think we got him committed to lightening up on a BRP next year. But no issues with either sled, weather was good but for 1 day on edge between snow and freezing rain, got off the sleds everyday before dark and only rode more then 300 km 3 days. I will admit 12 days on sled gets a little long but those nasty aches and pains you suffer Monday AM disappeared after the first week. Used GPS for the first time, Ontario and Quebec and they worked pretty good but the Red Pine Ontario system works better then the Trakmap Quebec program. Carried notebook and e-reader in saddlebags, cell phone plugged in 12V plug rode in tank bag all trip (until I forgot it in Quebec at brother-in-law) and all the electronics worked flawlessly. ALso we only made reservations twice in the 2 places where there was only 1 choice in very small towns on weekend...just rode in all the other nights...everybody doing this Gaspe tour and it's nice, I done it 5 times, but it was time to go somewhere different and I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for change from Gaspe, plus they didn't have conditions down East since the rinse although I believe snow came this week. After we see what's coming for 2014 tomorrow I might have a '12 GSX 800 for sale ! Maybe not....
