Well just back from PQ....2100 km over 7 days around Gaspesie....clockwise...trails are all icy anywhere West or Matane as of Friday....could be worse now.....lots of snow still in Ste. Anne des Monts and around East end and most of South side is good too, but lowlands, farm areas, etc and Bas St. Laurent just iced over. We had 7 sunny days but last Wednesday turned cloudy midway and rained for an hour. Luckily we were 30 min. from stopping that day. Any body riding thru Ste. Anne des Monts, do yourself a favor, forget about the Hotel Monaco and La Bluante, we found a nice place for $60/night, Auberge Chez Bass....easy to get to, great food and atomosphere and priced right. I'm not advertising but Gaspe is tough to find good service/food/accomodations in winter. This one fits all. This weekend was last time PQ is grooming and they are un-staking lakes now. We had a belt blow on DL's Vector and the shrapnel took out lower rad hose. Just bad luck, that's not a usual occurance....come to think of it even blowing a belt is bad luck...anyway L. Charest shop in Pohenegamook,PQ drove to lakeshore and picked him up, we rode to the shop and 2 hours all including lakeside pickup and we were back on the trail. Nice job ! As usual no other malfuctions with anything. I hear it's still winter in Mont Valin (East side of Lac St. Jean) and they'll be riding till April as usual. Y'all have a great summer, now, ya hear ? Now I just got to figure out how many air miles I need to save up to leave my sled in PQ for next winter and commute for 6 weeks....
